Add to that the struggles of busy traffic, and we wished our kids had a cell phone, so we could at least send them a text or phone them, and tell them we would be 20 minutes late.
Children are being given cell phones at a younger age, but as parents, we are concerned about the safety aspect. How do we know who might be talking to our kids on the phone? How many people have our children given their cell phone number to? Lets face it, most children are too young to understand the consequences of giving away private information such as their cell phone number.
Cell Phone Block / OK Software
Dean Computer Consulting now sell software to manage who phones the cell phone number of your children.
Not only does the software have a 'block' list to block certain numbers, by activating the 'OK' list, mums and dads can enter their own numbers in the software, and ONLY those numbers can phone the cell phone. This is an ideal application to load on the cell phone for younger children, allowing us as parents to keep in touch with them. At $45 per year, this is excellent value!
Currently, Vodafone have the Nokia 6121 and the Samsung s5600, which both support the software. Telecom have the Nokia 6120 which supports the software, and are all reasonably priced.
